Mission
Harmony's mission is to provide the most comprehensive management
services to meet the needs of independent long-term care providers,
based on demonstrated customer demand and established standards
of quality to enable the independent owner to control costs while
meeting regulatory and consumer demands.

History
Harmony Skilled Network has its origins in a collaborative effort begun
in 1994 when several long-term care providers in California united to
form an alliance in which they could pool their collective assets and
achieve greater economies of scale in such avenues as purchasing and contract
negotiation. Their new alliance was named "Harmony Provider Network."
Harmony Provider Network continued to grow, attracting member
facilities while courting new contracts from managed care payers.
By 1997 it had some 40 member facilities in northern and southern
California.
In early 1999, Harmony Provider Network and Independent Skilled
Network, a similar alliance of post-acute care providers, based
in Long Beach, California, merged their assets and became Harmony
Skilled Network.
Since then, Harmony has created a Risk Management program with a
Continuous Quality Improvement Manual, as well as a Corporate
Compliance Manual and its own Resident/Family Survey. Harmony has
also created a
captive insurance plan for HSN Member facilities.

Membership
Harmony seeks to enhance the power of each member facility by
increasing the membership. Each member facility is independently
owned and operated and remains so upon joining the network.

Leadership
Scott C. Jones has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of
Harmony Skilled Network since 1996. He received a BS in Political Science
from Brigham Young University and a Masters in Business Administration from
the University of Phoenix.
